Tasks & automatic scheduling

Keeping cultures healthy is all about doing the right work at the right time. This update makes it easier to manage daily task lists — and introduces automatic task scheduling so upcoming work doesn’t slip through the cracks.

A new Tasks page for day-to-day work

You can now open Tasks from the Operations menu to see what needs attention.

  • Clear status tabs: quickly switch between Pending, In Progress, and Done.
  • Due date callouts: see what’s overdue, due today, or coming up soon.
  • Unassigned visibility: tasks that aren’t assigned yet can still show up so the team can pick them up.

Combine similar tasks to batch your workflow

When you have multiple tasks of the same type, you can select them and combine them into one bundled task. This is especially helpful when you’re doing repetitive bench work and want fewer clicks while still keeping everything tracked.

Automatic scheduling for subculture work (with admin controls)

Plants can now generate upcoming subculture tasks automatically based on each container’s schedule.

Admins also get a new Automation page where you can:

  • Trigger a run on-demand (useful after configuration changes or catching up)
  • See recent automation runs and how many tasks were created or skipped
  • Review errors (if any) so issues don’t go unnoticed

Technical details (for power users)

  • Scheduled generation runs daily and includes a catch-up pass for missed work.
  • Built-in safeguards prevent duplicate task creation.
  • When a subculture is completed manually, any pending auto-generated subculture task for that container is automatically cancelled.
