Customizable culture stages

Every lab has its own language and workflow. This update makes Plants more flexible by letting your team tailor culture stages to match how you actually work — while keeping the Cultures area consistent and easy to navigate.

Manage your stages in Settings (admin-only)

Admins now have a dedicated Settings → Stages page where you can:

  • Rename stages to match your lab’s terminology
  • Reorder stages so your pipeline reflects your process
  • Pick stage colors to make views easier to scan at a glance
  • Toggle stages active/inactive to keep navigation focused on what you use

Cultures now follows your pipeline

The Cultures section now builds its navigation from your active pipeline stages. That means:

  • Your stage links show up in the right order
  • Everyone sees the same consistent stage list across the app
  • It’s easier to keep your day-to-day work aligned with your production flow

A smoother transition for existing links

If your team is used to older stage URLs or labels, you shouldn’t have to re-learn everything overnight. For example, Hardening is now Acclimatization, and existing links will continue to route you to the right place.

Technical details (for power users)

  • Stages are now managed per tenant, rather than being hardcoded.
  • The Cultures navigation is driven by the active pipeline stages list.
  • Legacy “hardening” links redirect to “acclimatization”.
